In addition to the continuing education requirement, CTEC-registered tax preparers (CRTPs) will need a valid tax preparer bond before they can renew their registration with CTEC.  CRTPs should also have a Preparer Tax Identification Number (issued by the IRS) at the time they register with CTEC.
